Travelogue: Sustainable Fashion in Doha, Qatar
I've always found travel to be really inspiring. Getting out of my regular routine, meeting new people, and seeing art and museums are among some of my favorite things about visiting a new place. My trip to Doha, Qatar last fall was also special in that it was my first time abroad since the pandemic started. It felt like a big sign of hope and it was really refreshing to feel like things are finally going back to normal.
I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to travel and share my ideas with people on literally the other side of the world! (thanks to the Arts Envoy Cultural Exchange Program) While I was in Qatar, I gave a talk on sustainability and upcycling, presented my NOORISM collection in a fashion show and hosted a DIY workshop as well as explored the city, visited museums and rode a camel.
I feel like I came back a little bit changed from this adventure that was unlike anyplace I've been and was totally out of my comfort zone. Here's a video recap and some photo's from my trip.
